Work Relief charity Recruitment is recruiting for one of the world’s most recognisable charities is looking to recruit a Weekend Chef for their restaurant and conference rooms in Islington.
We are looking for an experienced Chef to oversee the food production for residents catering and conferences.
Duties will include:

Prepare and cook breakfast, conference meals and evening meals

Responsible for the day to day running of the kitchen during your shift and all aspects of food preparation, food storage, health and safety, hygiene, equipment maintenance, stocktaking food orders, stock rotation and food wastage.

Plan and cost menus and update regularly maintaining budgeted food costs, and attend budget meetings once a month with the Catering Manager.

Deal with Conference and Catering questions and queries in the absence of the Catering Manager in relation to the day to day running of the department.

Supervise catering staff during your shift on a day to day basis in relation to preparation and presentation of food for hostel, functions and conferences.

Liaise with the service staff to ensure adequate customer service, and deal with comments and complaints using set procedures

Assist in recruitment process, work reviews, inductions and training and development of staff
To be considered for this role candidates must have:
-
706/1 and 706/2 and/or other relevant level 2 formal qualification
-
At least 6 months cooking and supervisory experience in a similar role
-
Be enthusiastic about the ‘’whole meal experience’ and is able to cook to a high standard
-
Demonstrable leadership qualities and commitment to staff development

Be physically fit for the demands of the job

Good written and verbal communication with an excellent command of the English language
