Work Relief Charity Recruitment is recruiting for one of the world’s most recognisable charities is looking to recruit a Volunteer Coordinator for their Croydon Team.

 

Our client specialises in the provision of support, guidance and housing with homeless young people, and we are looking for an experienced Volunteer Officer to join an expanding team, providing support in a range of volunteer coordinating services including the recruitment and development of volunteers, promoting volunteering opportunities across the organisation and developing and assisting in the delivery of a volunteer induction programme.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to create, manage and develop an exciting and rewarding volunteer programme providing support for vulnerable clients.

 

Key duties will include:

  • The recruitment, development and management of a team of volunteers

  • Develop and promote the volunteering service

  • Providing training and development to volunteers

  • Plan and develop the service in line with the charity’s objectives

  • Co-ordinating and organising volunteer based activities and events

  • Management of the volunteer database and other HR related functions

  • Promoting and advertising volunteer opportunities

  • Developing and maintaining working partnerships with other organisations 

 

This is a super role within the charity which will inevitably lead to the successful candidate carving a career within this organisation and charity sector. We see this as an ideal role for a successful Volunteer Coordinator or Volunteer Officer / Service Delivery Manager / Programme Manager / Project Manager or anyone who has a proven track record recruiting, managing and developing volunteers.

 

This is an exciting role within the charity which holds varied responsibilities and activities. 

 

 

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Experience of coordinating volunteers and knowledge of legislation relating to volunteers

  • Experience of event organisation

  • Experience of promoting volunteer opportunities

  • Experience of developing information for different audiences

  • Ability to inspire, enthuse and motivate people

  • Experience of working with vulnerable people

  • Knowledge or understanding of the issues facing homeless people

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to relate to and communicate effectively
