Work Relief Charity Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of one of the country’s most recognisable charities, providing independent living support to vulnerable client groups.
Our client is looking for an experienced support worker to join the team and provide support to elderly and vulnerable clients - helping them with welfare benefits and paying their bills.
The role will involve:

Working in and around Reading, to provide support and advice regarding financial matters

Assessing new clients and managing referrals
-
Creating and developing support plans for service users
-
Liaising with external agencies and companies to assist service users in managing their finances
-
Giving advice and support on clients’ financial issues, including welfare benefits
-
Assisting in the management and development of support assistants and volunteers
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop a career in support services with one of the UK’s most respected organisations. We’re particularly interested in hearing from experienced support professionals who have experience / understanding of support work and in assisting people to manage their finances such as welfare benefit matters. You might be involved in CAB / citizens advice, advocacy, housing, family support, casework, outreach work or youth work.
Due to visiting clients, the successful candidate will have a full UK driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
The essential requirements:

Experience in dealing with vulnerable clients

Knowledge or experience of supporting client with welfare benefits and/or basic finances

Excellent communication and organisation skills

Experience of liaising with Local Authorities and other associated agencies

An understanding and empathetic approach
